Ingredients

Beef
  • - 1 lb ground beef
  • - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • - salt and black pepper to taste
Special Sauce
  • - 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • - 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • - 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
  • - 1/2 teaspoon yellow mustard
Bowl
  • - 4 cups shredded lettuce or cooked rice
  • - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • - 1/4 cup chopped dill pickles
  • - 1/4 small red onion thinly sliced

Method

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Cook, breaking up the meat, until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. While the beef cooks, whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, and mustard for the special sauce.
  4. Divide the lettuce (or rice) among bowls.
  5. Top with the warm beef, shredded cheddar, chopped pickles, and red onion.
  6. Drizzle generously with the special sauce and serve immediately.

Notes

Storage: Store beef and sauce separately from fresh toppings; keeps for up to 3 days.
Make ahead: Sauce can be made up to a week ahead and stored in the fridge.
Swap: Ground turkey or chicken works in place of beef.
